Julian McEnroe, LAc
Growing up in California’s San Joaquin valley Julian actively participated in soccer, basketball, track and field and other sports. It is while experiencing personal injuries during this time that he developed an interest and pursuit in sports medicine.
He studied Kinesiology at Cal Poly Humboldt University, graduating in 2016, with an emphasis on exercise science. He piloted a study there for clinically depressed and anxious students to utilize exercise as an avenue for improving their mental health and cognitive behavioral disorders. He further pursued his career in medicine by attending the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine where he studied both Acupuncture and Herbology. Julian’s thesis at OCOM was an integrated medical literary review on the Treatment and Recovery of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament.
In the clinic he has treated various health issues including sports injuries, musculoskeletal issues, sciatica, neurological disorders, PMS and PCOS, endometriosis, fertility, spinal fusions, stroke sequelae, PTSD and trauma, migraines and headaches, Bell’s Palsy, motor vehicle accident injuries, cancer recovery, memory loss, long Covid symptoms, gastrointestinal disorders and diseases, and many more health conditions.
In graduate school he studied Tuina and Shiatsu massage, utilizing these modalities to better treat his patients. He took elective courses in pediatric Tuina in order to help early childhood developmental issues. He currently treats children as well as teenagers. He is also trained in Guasha, Moxa, Cupping and Electronic stimulated acupuncture which he employs during treatment to increase vascular circulation, decrease fascial densification and improve lymphatic drainage.
Julian enjoys practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong in order to cultivate his own qi and better his physical and mental health. He loves to spend his time away from the clinic hiking, skiing, playing basketball and soccer as well as foraging the forests for medicinal mushrooms and herbs.
