Lauren Cilfone is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a background in functional medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Vermont and, after gaining several years of experience as an RN in acute care, completed her Family Nurse Practitioner training at George Washington University. She has also pursued specialized training through the School of Applied Functional Medicine, the Kharrazian Institute, and Cogence Immunology.
Beginning her career as a medical-surgical nurse, Lauren witnessed firsthand the debilitating impact of chronic illness. This inspired her to pursue training through the integrative and functional medicine model to better address the root causes of health issues. Her approach is deeply collaborative, empowering patients to take an active role in their own wellbeing.
Lauren focuses on helping patients achieve their health goals through tailored strategies that address the foundations of health including, sleep optimization, personalized nutrition, hormone health, stress resilience and movement. By bridging allopathic care with functional medicine, she provides a comprehensive range of tools and perspectives to meet each patient’s individualized needs.
Lauren enjoys working with dynamics such as: autoimmunity, thyroid disease, insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, post-concussion care, mold toxicity, gut health, perimenopause and menopause. Lauren strongly believes in the body’s innate resilience and capacity for healing, and she is passionate about partnering with individuals to overcome health challenges and achieve sustainable wellness.
Outside of work, Lauren is a lifelong learner who enjoys staying active outdoors, hiking, fitness, reading, and visiting local farmers’ markets.
