Cupping Therapy
We offer a variety of different types of cupping therapy.
The therapist creates a vacuum inside the cup, either by heating the air within it before placing it on the skin (fire cupping) or by using a mechanical pump (plastic cups) or gentle suction manually (silicone). The suction pulls the skin and underlying tissues upward into the cup, which is believed to increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and promote cell repair.
Cupping therapy is commonly used to treat a variety of conditions, including muscle pain, tension, and inflammation. It is also used to enhance overall well-being, reduce stress, and promote relaxation. Some athletes use cupping to improve performance and speed up recovery times by alleviating muscle soreness and stiffness.
A session can be incorporated into your massage and will typically last about 10-20 minutes, depending on areas requested, during which multiple cups may be applied to the body, often on the back, neck, and shoulders. After the cups are removed, circular marks may remain on the skin from where the cups were placed, usually fading within a few days as the lymphatic system flushes the system.
While it has gained popularity in recent years, particularly among athletes and celebrities, it is important to seek treatment from a qualified practitioner to ensure safety and effectiveness. Cupping therapy offers a unique approach to health and wellness, drawing on ancient techniques to provide modern therapeutic benefits.
